Off Site Field Experience
ESL Standards, Curriculum, Assessment, and Methods Course

Goal:  To authentically apply in-class learning to real world, relevant circumstances. During this off-site field experience, teachers must make strategic and thoughtfully planned efforts to communicate with the local Spanish community using only English, applying strategies learned in class for making content comprehensible and accessible.

The task: Students will work collaboratively to learn from the community at the Santa Catalina Market. Students will seek answers to the following questions: 
·      What is the history of this location? 
·      What can I learn about the residents?  
·      Why is it a popular destination?  
·      How did it evolve into a popular destination?
